The INERTIA Project

INERTIA project addresses the "structural inertia" of existing Distribution Grids by introducing more active elements combined with the necessary control and distributed coordination mechanisms. To this end INERTIA will adopt the Internet of Things/Services principles to the Distribution Grid Control Operations.

INERTIA project is a EU FP7-ICT funded project, under the grant agreement no: 318216.

INERTIA project collaboration on Grid+ Projects Initiative

INERTIA project was one of the 1st European projects demonstrated on the gridinnovation-on-line.eu initiative. GRID+ is a coordination and support action supported by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission. The overarching goal of GRID+ is to implement and support the management, planning and networking processes of the EEGI (European Electricity Grid Initiative), both within and beyond the European borders, in order to enhance the delivery by the European network operators of the new knowledge needed to deploy Smart Grid solutions in the EU28.

INERTIA Project demonstration in European Utility Week 2014

From the 4th to 6th of November, the INERTIA project disseminated the 2nd project year results at the European Utility Week 2014 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This is Europe's biggest and best smart utility event featuring over 300 high level speakers and covering all the major value streams. In addition, all the main companies on the field of smargrids show high interest on this annual event. Engineering, a core partner of the INERTIA project, presented the INERTIA Concept and the overall pilot evaluation testing of the project in the special booth of the company in the exhibition.

INERTIA Overall Framework presentation on metering and smart energy international magazine

The overall INERTIA framework paper, addressing all the main components and aspects of the INERTIA project has been disseminated on the September 2014 issue of metering and smart energy international magazine which is the most recognized technical publication on the field of smart grids. In addition to the dissemination of the project through the technical magazine, this was the main magazine on the European Utility Week 2014.
